For this personal project, I wanted to explore further the meaning behind the title, Pulp Fiction. Pulp magazines were cheap fictional magazines that ran from the late 1800's until the 1950's. They were short stories made up of wild and colorful adventures that eventually led to the creation of the first superhero comics. With this in mind, the theme of each poster was to evoke nostalgia by calling back to the style, layout, typography, and coloring of the pulp magazines along with the comic books of the 20's and 30's.
The decision to create multiple posters was also to mimic the nature of pulp fictions being mass produced with a similar cover layout, which I've also done with my posters. The three different solid color posters are also meant to display the three different timelines happening simultaneously in the film, all joined together in the multicolor main poster. Finally, the colorful and expressive stories are expressed in the loud color palette, distinctive coloring, and dynamic typography.
